Counting down the year to a new life -- again.  Rusty first ended up in the Animal Control shelter in September when he was picked up as a stray.  He was quickly adopted out to a nice woman who took wonderful care of him.  Unfortunately, she was recently diagnosed with a terminal health issue and could no longer care for Rusty so he ended up back at the Animal Control shelter for a second time.  He only weighs about 12 pounds and is probably a Chihuahua small terrier [possibly Cairn Terrier] mix.  Rusty gets along well with other dogs and pretty much ignores cats.  He appears to be reliably housetrained and will go to the door when he needs to go out.  He's reserved when he first meets someone new -- he'll even bark like crazy -- but once he gets to know you, he's incredibly sweet and will bond quickly with whoever gives him a sense of security and safety.

Rusty is neutered, fully vaccinated, tested negative for heatworms, dewormed and treated with heartworm and flea preventative.
