Charlie is a Nanday Conure. Like most Nandays, Charlie is intelligent, sweet, happy and affectionate. He is a very social animal and wants to be in the middle of whatever his human companions are doing. He especially likes to ride around on your shoulder. He is quiet and is just beginning to learn to speak. He was rescued from a neglect situation and was within a few days of starving to death when he came to us. He had also been so stressed and neglected that he had pulled out most of the feathers on his breast. After several months in rehab, Charlie is back at normal weight and many of his feathers have grown back although he still has "naked" patches. We have not had Charlie sexed so we are not 100% sure he is a male. We also do not know how old he is. Charlie will need to have a cage that is a minimum of 18"d x 27"w x 55"h. The cage provides Charlie with a safe haven, an area he is able to establish and define as his own territory and with enough space for exercise and play. Potential adopters will be required to provide proof that they will provide Charlie with an appropriate cage. There is a $250 adoption fee for Charlie.
